I've been gone six weeks. Here's why β€” and what I want to show you.

Something shifted while I was away. I want to tell you about it.

The last newsletter I sent was the beginning of May. Since then β€” nothing. No weekly brief, no check-in, no "here's what I've been thinking."

And I want to be honest with you about why.

In mid-May I had major shoulder reconstruction surgery. We're talking tendon anchored back to bone, bicep reattached, the works. I won't pretend it was straightforward β€” it wasn't. Recovery has been slow, uncomfortable, and at times genuinely humbling for someone who is used to showing up and getting on with it.

I've also gone back to my NHS role this week.

Which means I am, right now, doing the thing I know many of you will recognise: trying to hold everything together, showing up for everyone else, while quietly wondering when it gets to be your turn.

I see the irony of a woman who helps people prepare their bodies for pregnancy, currently being reminded that her own body has limits.

But here's what I kept thinking about during those weeks of enforced stillness:

The women on my list.

The ones who've been trying for two, three, four years. Who've sat in NHS appointments and been told everything looks normal. Who've gone home with a printout and no answers, and quietly got on with it β€” because that's what you do.

You show up. You keep going. Even when it's hard.

That's exactly who I built Fertility-Fit for. And I'm not going anywhere.

Which is why I want to invite you to something.

On 30 June at 7.30pm BST (yes this Tuesday), I'm hosting a live webinar:

"Why Everything Looks Normal… But You're Still Not Pregnant"

This is the conversation the NHS appointment doesn't have time for.

I'm going to walk you through exactly what standard testing misses, why "normal" results don't always mean everything is fine, and what I look for instead β€” the markers that consistently change outcomes for the women and couples I work with.

It's free. It's live. And I'll be taking questions.

Spaces are limited and the date is close, so if this has been sitting in the back of your mind β€” the unanswered questions, the feeling that something is being overlooked β€” this is for you.

I'll see you there.

The biggest mistake I see after "everything came back normal"
This week I was looking through a client's blood results. Every box had a reassuring tick beside it. Normal. Normal. Normal. If you looked at those results on their own, you'd think there wasn't much else to discuss. But she'd had three miscarriages. That's the problem with the word normal. It tells you where each result sits compared with a reference range. It doesn't always tell you whether i...
What I learned at a wedding this week that applies to your IVF prep
I went to a wedding this week that was planned in four months. Not four months of "let's get engaged and start thinking about it." Four months, full stop. No save the dates sent a year out. No twelve month venue waitlist. It was on a Sunday, because that was the date they could get everyone who mattered in the room. They made compromises everywhere. And it was one of the best weddings I've been...
The 90 days that decide whether IVF works.
Everyone talks about IVF like it's a reset button. It isn't. It's a magnifier.IVF doesn't create a healthy embryo out of nothing. It takes what your body is currently capable of and scales it up. Good conditions get amplified. So do the ones nobody checked for.Egg quality is largely determined in the 90 days before retrieval, not on the day itself. Whatever's happening in the body during that wi...
