The supplement cupboard that made me stop and think

A client recently laughed as she opened her kitchen cupboard.

"I don't even want to tell you how much money is in here."

Inside were bottles of supplements she'd collected over the last two years.

Some she'd seen on Instagram.

Some had been recommended by friends.

Others she'd bought because she thought,

"It can't hurt."

When you're trying to conceive, especially after loss, it's completely understandable.

Doing something feels better than doing nothing.

But more doesn't always mean better.

Sometimes it means confusion.

Sometimes it means spending hundreds of pounds on products your body doesn't actually need.

Sometimes it even means nutrients competing with one another for absorption.

One of the biggest shifts I see in my clients isn't adding more.

It's finally understanding why they're taking something.

Every recommendation should answer a simple question.

"What problem are we trying to solve?"

If there isn't a clear answer, it's worth asking whether it belongs in your routine at all.

Preparation shouldn't feel like throwing everything at your body and hoping something works.

It should feel like a carefully thought-out plan.

That's what creates confidence.

Not a cupboard full of bottles.

If your supplement cupboard is full but you're no longer sure what's actually helping, let's simplify it with a plan that's built around your body.

It tells you where each result sits compared with a reference range. It doesn't always tell you whether i...
What I learned at a wedding this week that applies to your IVF prep
I went to a wedding this week that was planned in four months. Not four months of "let's get engaged and start thinking about it." Four months, full stop. No save the dates sent a year out. No twelve month venue waitlist. It was on a Sunday, because that was the date they could get everyone who mattered in the room. They made compromises everywhere. And it was one of the best weddings I've been...
The 90 days that decide whether IVF works.
Everyone talks about IVF like it's a reset button. It isn't. It's a magnifier.IVF doesn't create a healthy embryo out of nothing. It takes what your body is currently capable of and scales it up. Good conditions get amplified. So do the ones nobody checked for.Egg quality is largely determined in the 90 days before retrieval, not on the day itself. Whatever's happening in the body during that wi...
